Tips / Recipes

Tips:

Calamondins are a delicious addition to foods and drinks where you would use any tart citrus fruit such as lemons or limes. They add a refreshing kick to iced tea, soft drinks and beer. Like a mouthful of sunshine, add a little juice to margaritas or daiquiris.

How do we process them?

We wash the fruit in a detergent and vinegar solution, avoiding the use of harsh chemicals. We slice off the tip of the fruit with the stem. With both thumbs and first two fingers, we squeeze the juice and seeds into a strainer, allowing the juice to collect in a bowl underneath. We then add the juice to the rinds and puree in a blender. This puree is easily frozen for future use. We freeze in glass containers to minimize exposure to toxins of petrochemical products. We keep the seeds moist and save them for planting..

Our Logo:

We wanted it to say Florida, homemade and natural. The fruit and leaves on the apron are not drawings, but rather photos from our orchard. The white on the fruit is sunshine. The flamingo? Well, she says “Florida” and fun.
